Ombre Powder Brows

What is Ombre Powder Brows?

Ombre Powder is a permanent cosmetic tattoo that involves the technique of inserting pigment into the skin by scratching the skin with a needle to create pixels. It produces a soft, misty makeup look where the tails are darker and fades lighter to the front. This technique is often called Microshading. These results are smudge proof, water proof, and sweat proof brows. Ditch the brow pencil and get your dream brows!

What should I expect with Ombre?

The downtime for this procedure is usually about 10-14 days. During this time, you will experience a bit of redness, swelling, and scabbing as the pigment settles into the skin. The first couple days, the brows will began to get very dark as the scab forms. Scabbing and flaking occurs around day 7 & lasts up to day 10-14. It is required to avoid getting this service done less than 3 weeks prior to any major events or vacations to allow time for the brows to heal.

What is the maintenance for Ombre?

Maintenance for Ombre varies depending on the client's skin type, lifestyle, and preferences. There is a touch up required at 6-8 weeks post initial session.

Typically clients will come in to do a color boost every 2-3 years to simply refresh the color.

In most cases, clients who have hair growth outside the brow tattoo shape will want to remove the hair as it grows - whether it be by waxing, threading, etc.

PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Avoid getting any type of chemical peels, acne facials, or Botox and filler treatments 4 weeks prior to your appointment.
  • Tint, Hennas, and Dyes should NOT be done less than 3 weeks prior to your procedure.
  • Discontinue any use of alcohol, caffeine, smoking, and blood thinners until after your procedure. Caffeine includes tea, energy drinks, and coffee. These should NEVER be taken less than 48 hours prior to a permanent makeup procedure.
  • Retinols and other harsh skin care products should be disregarded until you are completely healed from the procedure. Please discard use for 3 weeks prior to your procedure.
  • Fish oil supplements should NOT be consumed for 14 days prior to a permanent makeup procedure.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to your service. This includes tanning beds and vacations/outdoor activities where your skin may be sunburned.

POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • NO soaps and facial cleansers on the pigmented area for the first 5 days. Keep brows dry. Washing too early will cause disruption of the pigment settling in the skin.
  • Blot brows dry every hour for the first 24 hours post treatment to remove lymph and excess moisture.
  • Apply very thin layer of the provided healing ointment. Use for the first 48 hours then discard.
  • ONLY rinse with cool-temperature water when cleansing
  • ONLY touch brows with clean hands during healing time. Use a clean, cotton pad or q tip to treat or cleanse brows.
  • Baths and showers are allowed as long as face does not get wet. Use shower cap to cover brows to avoid water contact.
  • AVOID hot and steamy baths or showers until brows are healed
  • AVOID applying makeup to the pigmented area until brows are healed - (Healing time is usually 10-14 days)
  • AVOID rubbing the pigmented area vigorously when washing your face. Be gentle!
  • NO scratching or picking away scabs or flakes on pigmented area until fully healed. Picking off prematurely will result in areas with insufficient pigment. Allow brows to heal on their own without interruption.
  • NO Botox or fillers near the brow area for at least 4 weeks
  • NO swimming in fresh, salt, or chlorinated water for at least 2 weeks.
  • AVOID direct sun exposure for at least 3 weeks. After brows are healed, you can apply SPF 30 to pigmented area daily to avoid premature fading of the brows and/or skin damage from the sun. Protect your skin!
  • AVOID contact to full pressure of the water in a shower for 14 days.
  • NO chemical exfoliatants such as Retin-A, retinols, tretinoins, and AHAs/BHAs like Glycolic, Salicylic, and Lactic acid for at least 4 weeks. Facials, chemical peels, and laser facial treatments should NOT be done in this time as well. NEVER APPLY DIRECTLY ON BROWS!
